Entries are now open for our annual photographic competition.
These are the rules for entry and voting-
The competition has three categories: Fylde, British Isles and World.
The pictures must have been taken during 2024.
The Fylde is defined as the area enclosed by the Irish Sea, A6 Road, River Ribble and River Conder
The Fylde Bird Club annual photographic competition will take place during February and March
Voting will take place entirely online either using email, text or WhatsApp.
There are three categories open for entries:
• Fylde (Fylde Bird Club recording area)
• British Isles (excluding the Fylde)
• World (excluding British Isles)
A prize will only be awarded to the winner of the Fylde category in this year’s competition. The ‘prize’ will be a donation to a bird conservation charity of the winners choosing.
The Rules
• A maximum of TWO images for the Fylde category per photographer.
• Only ONE image for the British Isles category per photographer.
• Only ONE image for the World category per photographer.
• All photographs must have been taken between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2024.
• No photographs taken at the nest.
• No photographs of captive or trapped birds.
• Please submit digital photographs only in jpeg form; slides/hard copies/prints will not be accepted (but may be submitted as scanned images).
• Individuals may only enter the competition if they were a member of Fylde Bird Club in 2024 and/or 2025.

Please remember to include the species name, date, and location for each entry in the email.
The deadline for submissions is midnight Sunday 2nd March.
Voting will open on Tuesday 4th March . Links to ‘Google Photos’ galleries to view all the entries will be emailed out to all members once all the entries have been received and also sent on the clubs WhatsApp
Voting will close at midnight on Sunday 23rd March .

The results will be announced on Tuesday 25th March at the Fylde Bird Club’s physical meeting at Fylde Cricket Club
