This winter several dozen Twite at Knott End have been colour-ringed as part of The Twite Network https://twitter.com/Twite_news .
Each Twite ringed at Knott End has a metal BTO ring above a pale blue ring on the left leg, and on the right leg a unique combination of two colour-rings.

The Fylde Bird Club funds a winter feeding scheme for Twite at Knott End. The slipway and adjacent beach is an excellent site to see the Twite.
